About the program

4.1 E - DGR for Warehouse and Ground Handling Staff Responsible for Storing, Loading, and Unloading Dangerous Goods

Personnel responsible for handling and storage of cargo or mail in a warehouse, loading and unloading ULD, and loading and unloading aircraft cargo compartments, or personnel performing the functions of quality control/compliance monitoring activities, or personnel performing the functions of Dangerous Goods Post Holder for Air Operators, including “no-carry” Air Operators, Ground Handling Agents, Helicopter Operators, Designated Postal Operators, Freight Forwarders, Packaging Suppliers, and Personnel Delivering Dangerous Goods Training for the Function in Tables 4.1.F, 4.1.H, 4.1.J, and 4.1.K in the UAE.

This DGR training program is fully compliant with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) certification requirements for Warehouse and Ground Handling Staff Responsible for Storing, Loading, and Unloading Dangerous Goods. During the DGR course, you will gain in-depth knowledge of the different classes of Dangerous Goods Regulations, including flammable liquids, explosives, and toxic materials. You will also learn the proper labeling, packaging, and documentation requirements for dangerous goods, as well as the necessary safety precautions when handling such materials.

The program combines classroom instruction and hands-on training in a simulated warehouse environment, where participants practice essential skills in a safe and controlled setting.

  • Initial: 2 days (16 hours)

Objectives

After completing this DGR training, you will be able to:

  • Identify and classify dangerous goods
  • Interpret hazard communication
  • Detect hidden dangerous goods in cargo and mail
  • Implement cargo pre-loading procedures
  • Implement transporting, loading, and unloading cargo/baggage to and from aircraft
  • Explain the basic Emergency Response procedures

Certification

A GCAA-recognized certificate will be issued upon the successful completion of the course assessment. As an approved CBTA provider (IATA Montreal, Canada), successful candidates can also obtain IATA Certification. This certificate, valid for two years, confirms proficiency in Dangerous Goods Regulations and DGR training requirements.

Current year IATA DG Regulations Manual and the UAE Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) Part VI Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (DGR Aviation will provide these for the duration of the  training)

Class Activities

  • Plenty of simulation exercises and case studies on various types of Dangerous Goods shipment to enable participants to progressively apply their knowledge and skills to prepare and accept Dangerous Goods shipment.
  • Final assessment (theory and practical) on last day of class to assess participant’s knowledge, skills and attitude on the application of the Regulations.
