About the program

Personnel responsible for flight operations and flight dispatchers. 4.1 I

Flight Operations and Flight Dispatchers.

This program is in compliance with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) certification requirements  for  Flight Operations and Flight Dispatchers. This course is designed for personnel responsible for the flight operations and dispatchers. It will provide them with the knowledge and skills required to be able to identify the nine different classes of Dangerous Goods, its hazard and handling labels, packaging specification marks on the package and potential hidden Dangerous Goods in general cargo. Special loading requirements, information required on the Notification to Captain (NOTOC) and emergency response will also be covered during this training.

Duration of Training - Initial : 1 day (8 hours)

Target Audience

  • Airline and ground handling flight operations officers
  • Operator's and ground handling carrying a role of flight dispatcher

Objectives

After completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify and classify dangerous goods
  • Interpret hazard communication
  • Detect unpermitted dangerous goods in baggage
  • Interpret NOTOCs
  • Apply emergency procedures

Certification

A Certificate valid with GCAA will be issued upon the successful completion of the course assessment. Being an CBTA approved provider (IATA Montreal, Canada) , the successful candidates can obtain IATA Certification as well. This Certificate is valid for two years.

Resources During Training

Current year IATA DG Regulations Manual and the UAE Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR) Part VI Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (DGR Aviation will provide these for the duration of the  training)

Class Activities

  • Plenty of simulation exercises and case studies on various types of Dangerous Goods shipment to enable participants to progressively apply their knowledge and skills to prepare and accept Dangerous Goods shipment.
  • Final assessment (theory and practical) on last day of class to assess participant’s knowledge, skills and attitude on the application of the Regulations.
