The aim of the qualification is to provide learners with knowledge of the basic health and safety practices essential when working at height. Achievement of this qualification will enable learners to understand the risks associated with working at height, the requirements of a safe system of work, requirements for correctly selecting and using equipment safely, following the correct techniques
Learners will be able to understand the hazards from working at a height and the equipment and to apply that knowledge to reduce the risk of injury to themselves and others
Contents:
Methodology:
Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly. The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.
Minimum qualification:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.
Length of Course:
This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.
Course Certification:
Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive certificates on Award in Work at Height by HABC
