Abrasive Wheel Safety Training

Course Objectives:

This course covers a range of risks and hazards such as noise, dust, and vibration hazards. Trainees will also get educated on best practices concerning changing of wheels, cutting methods, posture and stopping and isolating grinding wheels.

Course Syllabus:

Introduction
Identify grinder Hazards
Understand Guarding requirements
Select necessary PPE
Adjust work rests
Conduct a ring test
Work safely on abrasive grinding wheels
Types of grinders and wheels and its inspection before use
Wheel guarding and work rests requirements
Wheel replacement and testing
Inspection procedures and safe work practices.

Methodology:

Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly. The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

Minimum qualification:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.

Length of Course:

This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.

Course Certification:

Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive certificates on Abrasive Wheel Safety Training

Validity of Certificate: One year
