Dangerous Goods Training GCAA Course Code : 4.1.K/IATA CBTA Function 7.10.A

Program Overview

The course is designed to guide you in the tasks and responsibilities to ensure that you are competent to perform your job function and be in full compliance with the regulations. It has been designed as per IATA's DGR - section 1.5 and in accordance with function 4.1.K (7.10.A) in IATA's 'Dangerous Goods Training Guidance'.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course you will be able to:

•  Identify and classify dangerous goods
•  Interpret hazard communication
•  Detect hidden dangerous goods in cargo and mail
•  Check documentation and packages for indications of undeclared dangerous goods
•  Explain the basic Emergency Response procedures

Target Audience

•  Airport or ground handling staff involved in screening baggage, cargo and mail
•  Security service providers staff involved in screening baggage, cargo and mail
•  Security operations managers and supervisors

Pre-requisites

•  Recommended level is Entry-level and Intermediate
•  The recommended level of language proficiency is ICAO Operational Level 4 or the equivalent

Delivery

•  Classroom-based learning including lectures, exercises, case studies and final assessment

Exam

The participant is required to score at least 80% to pass the mastery test.
